Winter Horse Care Tips ? In Three Parts

Horses

Part 1: Pasture and Shelter

Pasture time for your horse is important all season long even when it’s snowy and cold. We might not like the cold but, horses are wild animals and they don’t mind being outside.  Horses thrive best in temperatures ranging from 14 degrees to 77 degrees.  They will also huddle together for warmth if necessary.

Watch out for glazed over paddock and icy patches by the pasture shelter and frozen water buckets.  For ice patches, put something with some “grit” on it to make it easier for walking and try spreading some alfalfa meat on ice to help melt it. Dirt, fireplace ashes or burn pit ashes work great for some extra traction.  Keep water always accessible, breaking up frozen tops on water buckets or troughs can be done in just a few minutes, sometimes a ball in the water can help keep the top from freezing.

A shelter or run in shed works great in the pasture or paddock to protect horses from wind, snow and rain. This shelter should have clean bedding and water. Dry hay should also be provided in the shelter even if there is hay in the pasture. Remember to keep an eye on your horses – some will try to “dominate” the shelter and deny access to other horses. You need to make sure everyone has access to shelter, food and water.

Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age Game Review

Farm-Ranch

Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age is the next instalment of the farm management series that has taken the casual gaming world by storm. Join Farm Frenzy 3′s star Scarlett as she buys a farm in the North Pole and heads north to turn the farm into a success! Help her create delicious frozen treats, and breed and care for many arctic animals.

Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age continues the story of Scarlett, the star of Farm Frenzy 3 and its followup game American Pie. In her quest to help farmers around the world, Scarlett now finds herself in the North Pole after buying an arctic farm through a newspaper ad. Honestly though, what kind of farm would succeed in the frozen wasteland of the North Pole?!

Not one to be intimidated by a challenge, Scarlett is determined to make her arctic farm work. This isn’t a normal farm though; you won’t see any watermelons, pumpkins or chickens here. Instead, Scarlett is focusing on breeding arctic animals such as penguins (Penguins in the arctic? Right…), walruses and even mammoths (Mammoths? Maybe that’s why they named the game “Ice Age”…).

The game engine for Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age is the same as for the other Farm Frenzy 3 games, so the majority of the gameplay is very similar, but with a cooler (heh) more arctic look and feel. For example, you won’t see any predatory wolves here, but you’ll get crazy polar bears trying to ruin your day.

The gameplay starts out pretty intuitively, with the farming processes from the other Farm Frenzy games translating pretty well in this arctic sequel. You start off breeding penguins whose eggs you collect. These eggs can then be tractored off to the nearby town for some quick cash, or they can be transformed into powdered eggs, then into cookies, then into cakes… that is if you build the necessary machinery on your farm. There will be some recipes that require ingredients not produced on your farm, so you will need to order these ingredients in via helicopter.

Training a Cat to Use a Litter Box

Cats

Commonly, cats don’t require much care – you don’t have to walk your cat, there is no need to take her out every day. Your cat will be happy to play in the house, nap in her favorite sleeping place and playing with her toys. Dogs’ training involves quite a long time and patience, while training a cat to use a litter box is much easier.

Why Do Cats Use Litter Boxes

Training a cat to use it is easy because the usage of a litter box resembles the way cats urinate in the wild. Wild cats are usually purchased by predators and they try to hide the smell of their urine in order to hide their location. They do that by covering the urine with sand and dirt.

Commonly, cats get trained to use a this wonderful product after the first time they step into the box because they find the box is a great toilet as it allows them to hide their urine and cover it with the content of it.

Once trained, the cat will continue using the litter box. Some extraordinary circumstances or medical problem may interfere with this habit.

Training Your Cat to Use a Litter Box – Helpful Tips

Generally, no special training is required but cats are different. One cat may start using the litter box immediately, while others may need some more time and attention. Below you can find some training tips that may be useful.

Choose a litter cat box with a correct size. Cat owners should know that the litter box should be larger so that the cat would fit in it and feel comfortable.

The Necessity of Pet Steps

Pets

The health of your pet is extremely important to you, right? You worry about their teeth, their diet, and make sure that they get adequate exercise. If you are like many people, you consider them a natural extension of your family. If this fits your feelings toward your pet, then there are three big reasons to consider bed pet steps a necessity, not a luxury.

It is often assumed that pet steps are only for elderly or ill pets that are no longer capable of pouncing up onto the bed on their own. While it is entirely true that older pets will need steps to protect their joints and muscles, this is true of younger pets as well. The strain of constantly jumping up and down can put pressure on your pet’s body with time.

It is quite common for injuries to pets as well as owners to happen when a pet has to jump up and down from a high bed. To avoid broken bones or collisions with your pet, you will need steps so they can crawl up in a more safer manner.

Have you ever been jarred awake by the pounce of your pet on or off your bed? This is especially an issue if you have a larger dog who is probably not as graceful as you would like. By placing a pet step near your bed, you minimize any excess movement from your pet.

You could compare the jostle of a pet on your bed to the same situation involving another human. If your partner tosses and turns throughout the night, you are more apt to take precaution by purchasing a mattress that minimizes motion transfer. In the case of your pet, you can easily minimize his excess movement by keeping pet stairs nearby.

1. In fact, I am in another world, seen myself as an entrepreneur, believing to put my quota to reduce poverty. My kudos goes to the CEO of  THE THY SNAIL & GRASSCUTTER FARMS for their effort by impacting new knowledge to people like myself and others.

I promised to extend this good news of snail farming to other fellow Nigerians who are thinking of what to do or who have chosen Agric Business as a part time of full time business.

Thank you.

Akinsanmi David Omolade, Ondo State.

2. It is another interesting training, at least now one can be self employed, if there is a proper planning and quick action.

I will like to thank the facilitator Mr.Ismail AbdulAzeez of  THE THY SNAIL & GRASSCUTTER FARMS, for a job well done.

Edwin Morma, Esthern Nigeria.

4. I am very happy to be one of the participants of the grasscutter farming seminar. With this grasscutter farming training, I believe I can create wealth and make a good living.

Greatest thank goes to God who made it possible for the grasscutter farming seminar to hold and THE THY SNAIL & GRASSCUTTER FARMS.

I thank  THE THY SNAIL & GRASSCUTTER FARMS  because I am a Nigerian citizen who embrace agriculture but the biggest problem is that, I don`t like cultivating farm for cropping.
